Archer Materials’ CEO Simon Ruffell discussed the company’s latest developments and its commercialisation pathway with ausbiz.

He spoke about  Archer’s recent partnership with CSIRO as a major step towards tackling secure communications and combating financial fraud using quantum-based software. This collaboration aims to develop advanced algorithms capable of detecting and preventing financial fraud, with the added benefit of heightened security due to quantum technology’s resilience against hacking. The software is progressing from lab testing to trials with real financial data, targeting a potential licensing phase in the near future.

The most recent ASX announcement centred on Archer’s milestones towards qubit demonstration, indicating the push towards tangible hardware solutions. Ruffell indicates that demonstrating proprietary technology will be vital for future licensing opportunities. Archer maintains a strong capital position, with nearly $12 million at the end of the last quarter, and is confident this is sufficient to deliver significant milestones and commercialisation in the coming years.
